The Tale of Three Pumpkins

Is the personality of your child revealed by the design of their pumpkin?  I wonder?

Have fun Trick or Treating!

(Sadly, Paige was babysitting the night we carved pumpkins and for the first time I don't have a picture of something she created...her uncarved pumpkin tells the story of a 13-year-old girl who is too busy :))

Are you Ready for some Football?

Proud dad and son!

Carter's football season ended today with a battle for the league championship.  They got to play in the Dakota Dome and finished in second place out of 47 teams.  Way to go SHARKS!  It was his first year playing in pads and a great experience.

A Foretaste of Glory Divine

I drive down this road almost daily...and every time I see the vibrant red, orange, green, and golden leaves dancing in the sun my heart is moved.  Why is it that brilliant color stirs the soul, but that God designed yet  one more way to bless us and reveal Himself to us.  If this moves me here on earth, I anticipate with a sense of wonder how the colors will shine in heaven!

Listen to how John describes the Throne Room of God in Revelation:

"There before me was a throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. 3 And the one who sat there had the appearance of jasper and ruby. A rainbow that shone like an emerald encircled the throne." (Revelation 4:2-3)

Here John is, before the Throne of God, and all he can describe is the color!

Glorious!

When Morning Gilds the Skies

My Heart Awakening Cries:  May Jesus Christ Be Praised!

There are mornings that I forget to really open my eyes and see.  I forget to really breathe and offer a silent word to God..."This is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it."  I forget to be thankful for these three sleepy kids and a husband who is still in bed.  Rather I start out with the rat wheel in my head spinning endlessly over what needs to be accomplished next.  But then, God will do something so grand as paint the sky gold and purple and pink and blue.  And I will stop...and see...and catch my breath.

Thank you God for a sunrise so breathtaking that there is nothing else I can do but turn to you in praise!
